Mario Pergolini's Advice to Chano at a Key Moment in His Life

Chano Charpentier, leader of the band Tan Biónica, opened up about his addictions in a heart-to-heart talk with the host of 'Another Lost Day,' Mario Pergolini. The singer regretted his actions and recalled the advice the creator of Vorterix gave him at a key moment in his life. “I often showed myself as an arrogant person, or I showed a side of me that is not who I am, because, I mean, I’m not going to praise myself, but I know I’m a common person, like everyone else,” Chano explained. “I had my peaks of popularity and madness, also fueled by addiction problems, and over time I began to understand that now that I am well, at the beginning of my recovery, I felt a lot of guilt for a lot of damage I had done,” he admitted. “And then I started to understand that I didn’t have to feel guilty, because when I started trying substances or things like that, no one told me all the damage I was going to cause,” he continued. The artist put into words the terrible situations he went through under the influence of drugs: “No one told me, ‘Try this, your life is going to become unmanageable, you are going to hurt your mother, your brothers, your family.’ I didn’t know that. Obviously, I ended up doing it, so now I feel like I know I have the responsibility to be a better person because I have the tools.” Upon hearing the testimony, Pergolini shared his point of view: “Honestly, it’s difficult. I think these words about overcoming, about seeing each other again in a full stadium, gathering your friends, that is also another good message that you are giving.” Chano remembered the words that Mario Pergolini told him at a key moment in his life. Chano recalled the advice the host gave him during one of his visits to Radio Vorterix, where he indirectly advised him to “leave everything behind.” “I remember that the first time I went to Vorterix, I did an interview with you and said, ‘Well, I’m going to go smoke a cigarette downstairs,’ and you told me, ‘No, smoke here in the studio, it’s all right,’ and we smoked a cigarette. It’s not advice at all, but being able to tell it and say that it can also change, sometimes it’s super good, it contributes as much as maybe the damage one does to oneself. And the next time I went for an interview, you couldn’t smoke anymore, and you approached me from the side and told me, ‘You have to leave everything, I’m running at night, that’s how it works,’ but you didn’t want to get too involved and after the interview was over, you stopped me and told me that I had to leave everything,” he recalled.
